Dear Valued Partners,
We would like to inform you about “Copilot in 30”, Microsoft’s new motion designed to help you introduce Microsoft 365 Copilot Business to new end customers through a structured and scalable evaluation experience.
Beginning August 1, 2026, Microsoft will make available, for a limited time, a new 25-user, 30-day Microsoft 365 Copilot Business trial SKU.
Through this initiative, your end customers can experience the capabilities of Microsoft 365 Copilot Business directly within their everyday workflow, while you can create a clear and structured path from evaluation to a paid Copilot deployment.
The Microsoft 365 Copilot Business trial includes:
minimun amount of 25 seats
30-day trial period
One trial per eligible customer, per offer
Fixed license quantity and trial duration, with no extensions or quantity changes during the trial
The trial is intended for SMB customers with an eligible Microsoft 365 Business Basic, Business Standard or Business Premium subscription and up to 300 users per tenant.
We recommend prioritizing end customers who:
Are new to Copilot and do not currently have paid Copilot licenses
Have between 50 and 300 Copilot-eligible users
Already use Microsoft 365 Business Standard or Business Premium
“Copilot in 30” provides you with a practical way to move your Copilot conversations from theoretical demonstrations to measurable, real-world end customer experiences.
By incorporating the trial into your sales motion, you can:
Generate new demand among end customers who have not yet adopted Copilot
Help customers validate Copilot use cases using their own working environment
Shorten the journey from initial interest to a paid deployment
Strengthen your role as a trusted AI and Microsoft 365 advisor
Identify opportunities for license expansion following a successful evaluation
The guided 30-day period also allows you to establish clear success criteria, monitor adoption and gather practical proof points before discussing the customer’s longer-term licensing strategy.
Please note that the trial is configured to automatically convert into a paid subscription by default at the end of the 30-day period.
Unless the renewal settings are updated, the trial will convert into:
25 paid licenses
Annual commitment
Monthly billing
Before the trial expires, you can configure the required:
Renewal license quantity
Billing term
Billing frequency, including annual paid annually, annual paid monthly or monthly paid monthly
We recommend pre-scheduling the renewal settings before the end of the trial, ensuring that the agreed quantity, term and billing preferences are applied automatically upon conversion.
The usual 7-day cancellation window applies following conversion.
To maximize the value of every Copilot evaluation, we recommend that you:
Identify customers that meet the eligibility and targeting criteria.
Prepare the customer’s environment, including license assignment, identity and access validation, and permissions review.
Support users with lightweight guidance throughout the evaluation.
Monitor adoption, usage and the trial expiration date.
Review the results with the customer before the trial ends.
Define the appropriate paid subscription, renewal settings and potential expansion plan.
A successful Copilot trial should not be treated as a standalone product demonstration. It should form part of a structured customer journey that begins with business needs, proves value through everyday use and concludes with a clear adoption and licensing roadmap.
